OpéraSPORT Unveils Its Fall Winter 2024 Collection At Copenhagen Fashion Week

The OpéraSPORT Fall Winter 2024 collection was a unique combination of high-end fashion and athletic wear. Led by founders Stephanie Gundelach and Awa Malina Stelter, this collection celebrates the mix of luxurious, detailed designs with the energetic feel of sportswear, blending them together in a collection that's both eye-catching, cool and inspiring.

The collection is a testament to the innovative vision of Gundelach and Stelter. By integrating quilt and embroidery inspired by the intricate shapes of baroque architecture, the designers have skillfully summerized the essence of opulent baroque aesthetics while incorporating the functionality and comfort of sportswear. "Our Collection captures the opulent baroque aesthetics while embracing the functionality of sportswear. It’s a celebration of contrasts, gracefully merging the grandeur of the Opéra with the practicality inherent in sports," the duo shared. The result is a line that promises not only visual appeal but also practical versatility.

The new collection uses natural colors with bright reds and deep purples, focusing on clothes that are practical, move well, and look elegant. It's designed to work for both daytime and evening wear, with options for everyone including unisex styles, lightweight pieces, and dresses that can be worn in different ways. The brand is also serious about being eco-friendly, using materials like organic cotton, recycled polyester, and vegan leather made from recycled materials and wool. Even the accessories, like bags made from apple peel, show their dedication to protecting the environment. The collection, comprising 110 clothing styles and 14 accessories, offers a versatile and inclusive range that caters to various tastes and sizes from XS to XL. The brand's dedication to sustainability is evident not only in its choice of materials but also in its expanded Essentials carry-over program, which emphasizes classic key styles for season-to-season use, showing an always responsible mindset.

The Autumn Winter 2024 collection was unveiled on the 31st of January, set against the backdrop of the maple-covered shell of the Opera house in Copenhagen, a fitting homage to the elegance that defines the brand. In a move that highlighted the brand's commitment to diversity, the runway saw an eclectic mix of models, including GQ’s style projects editor Itunu Oke and Vogue Scandinavia’s print editor Allyson Shiffman, who walked the runway for their very first time. This choice of models, ranging from street cast to industry profiles, talents, and models, further emphasized the inclusivity and broad appeal of the collection.

OpéraSPORT's Fall Winter 2024 collection is set to launch online and in stores worldwide in August 2024. With its unique blend of style, sustainability, and inclusivity, the collection is poised to redefine the boundaries between high fashion and sportswear, promising a future where elegance and practicality go hand in hand. As the fashion world looks forward to this launch, OpéraSPORT continues to pave the way for a more inclusive and environmentally conscious industry.
